Monnalisa S.p.A.

Founded in Arezzo in 1968 by Piero Iacomoni – the current chairman of the Board – and Barbara Bertocci – who has inspired a stylistic DNA characterised by a unique, romantic-contemporary style and a continuous search for beauty. Monnalisa designs, manufactures and distributes high-end children’s wear for 0-16 years, under its own brand name, through multiple distribution channels. The company’s philosophy has always combined entrepreneurial activity, innovation, searching for new markets and original styling with particular attention to the development of business resources and expertise.

Led by Matteo Tugliani – CEO and shareholder – and Creative Director Diletta Iacomoni, the Company is now owned by a holding that refers to the founding family. At a consolidated level, Monnalisa has over 300 employees and a 2023 turnover of 41.9 million euros, with the exports value accounting for 63% of total production.

Monnalisa was one of the first childrenswear companies to adopt a consistent growth strategy by opening monobrand stores, both directly operated and wholesale. This approach has led to a wealth of knowledge and skills in managing such stores, constituting a solid source of competitive advantage. Characterised by a strong and growing international vocation, with the aim of increasing its presence in foreign markets and in the direct retail channel, since 2016 it has established subsidiaries in the UK, Russia, China, USA, South Korea, Taiwan, and Turkey, in addition to the already operational subsidiary in Hong Kong. Additionally, there are three branches, one in Spain, France, and Belgium.

MONNALISA IS DISTRIBUTED IN OVER 50 COUNTRIES.

The collections are available in more than 50 countries worldwide and in around fifty owned boutiques. All located in strategic locations and major fashion districts, as well as in over 400 multi-brand boutiques, and the monnalisa.com e-commerce site. Monnalisa is also distributed on major marketplaces: Farfetch, Giglio, Zalando, and Minto, the most important e-tailers: Mytheresa, LuisaViaRoma, Childrensalon, Zalando, Childsplay, and in the most prestigious department stores: Harrods, Lafayette, Saks, Tsum, El Corte Ingles, Bloomingdales, Harvey Nichols, Sogo, Mixc, KaDeWe, Globus, Bon Genie, DeBijienkorf.

However, while innovation represents the ultimate competitive lever to be preserved and valued as one of the key components of the Company’s intangible heritage, creativity remains the core of the production process. Diletta Iacomoni, the creative director, continues to reinterpret the brand’s unique stylistic code and Barbara Bertocci’s aesthetic heritage in a contemporary, romantic key.

Alongside the brand’s high-quality offering and engaging fashion content, Monnalisa combines significant investments in research and development, a strong social sensitivity, compliance with the SA8000 standard, and ISO 14001 environmental certification. Since April 2016, Monnalisa has been certified by Elite-Borsa Italiana, a program designed to support and grow SMEs, and since 2018 it has been listed on the EURONEXT GROWTH MILAN. The company has a medium-term ESG rating outlook of EE+.
